The Gift of the Sun
Believe it or not, feeling warm-or ridiculously hot, perhaps?- can be beneficial to your health as well as your brain. Let me point out some of the positives as you complain and complain...and complain.
- First of all, you'll lose oodles and oodles of weight. It's inevitable. Sweating to the oldies or newies can benefit your self-esteem as well as your tubby belly, and whatever else may be a bit overwhelming on your sweaty body. Your mind will benefit from your efforts, believe me.
- Feeling the god-given gift from our stunning sun is something one should cherish with the proper and honorable awe. Our magnificent star is not there for nothing, you understand.
- If you are unable or unwilling to accept the beauty of such a sunny situation, then consider the opportunity you have to frolic most certainly ungracefully and shamefully in any local water spout, fountain, or ocean, enjoying the cooling wash of water. Don't forget about jellyfish, however-or sharks.
- In the case your electric power goes out, you have the marvelous option of going outside with your 3 semi-comatose children to show them the wonders of nature. They'll be sure to wake their little selves up, since aimless birds fly strangely-and unusually slowly, to who knows where. Your kids will undoubtedly be mesmerized by their questionable flight, enjoying the meandering show. Ahh, parenthood can be so joyous! And quiet kids are wondrous, agreed?
- Humidity, you say? Pshaw. It is a blessing to us all, for all the toxins in our bodies are being expelled rapidly and properlly. We will ultimately be cleansed beyond all comprehension. Can you beat that?
- You can prance around in the buff. Privately, certainly. What a lovely opportunity to engage in a tango with your loved one. If you happen to be without a partner, self-dancing can be equally satisfying.
-
If you happen to perish from the soaring temperatures, you'll never know it. Sorry, but I had to mention that possibility since some have already succumbed across our nation. A bit of a serious ending to this short hub, yet one that has to be addressed.
Thanks for putting up with this facetious yet horrifying treatment of the current situation. We are all wet to some degree!

LOL this was so funny, yet serious, loved your sense of humor in it all though. We had a heat wave for 4 days up North on the Canadian Prairies and this old Saddle certainly was forced to shed his clothing and also sleep in the Buff with my ceiling Fan and floor fans blowing in the right direction.
Felt great, however I still tossed and turned a few times and then when I had to get up, running to the shower for a COLD one was wonderful. Then came out and had to go through it all over again for 3 more days.
It's finally left and headed East and the cool winds are now here and my house has chilled down nicely. I am in seventh heaven now, if there is such a place. I agree with most of what you said above, but I sure prefer a balance between HOT HEAT and HUMIDITY levels.
It's the HUMIDITY that is so dam uncomfortable. Great hub, you had me sweating all over again. he he he
Hahahaha...Lorlie! Good to see you!! This is too funny..now, where are you, exactly? LOL...JK! Right now, in SE Kansas..at 10 am...it's 95 degrees with a projected high of 104 but, believe me, it will reach around 112 today...and, the overnight lows are going to be a chilling, sweater weather temperature of 87...same thing, tomorrow.
Ummmm, uhhhh....well...Hell!
It is a bit confining when the sun is burining down "like a heatlamp gone wild."
A few (hundred!) less degrees and...I could relate.
All in jest, my friend Lorlie...and the caveat at the end is well taken...and true.
Can't wait to return to the temperate climate of my native hometown..where highs are in the mid 80's most of the summer and lows are always in the upper 50's
"Heaven..I'm in Heaven...."
Love ya! UP Awesome (in the positive ness of it), Useful!!! and ..hmmmmmmmm....interesting.
I entirely agree with your humorous message, lorlie, whether your like it hot or not, it is what it is so we have to deal with it. And living in south Florida, with regard to heat and humidity, I know what I'm talkin' about.
I forgot to say....in this weather, out in the country, we have set up an outdoor shower...which consists of a solar heated water hose, a clawfoot tub, lattice work and brick flooring....or else, in the back of the house, a hose and fence...and that's it! At 98 degrees around 10 pm...it is perfect for a warm shower in the moonlight.
AND..another 'plus' about hot, humid weather...it's great for skin...my face looks like a baby's skin...the moisture and perspiration cleanses and purifys..
so, my dear...there really ARE additional reasons for - well, not LOVING but, appreciating the HOT weather!
Kathy
Lorlie - haha! I do love the heat! But come on sister this is just a little more than I can take! I wouldn't mind running around sans clothing but I'm sure a neighborhood kid would run on in and get all freaked out and scarred for life!
Hub - up and awesome and everything!
Great start to a hot hub with three hotties. Yes, I relish the heat and enjoyed this hot hub of yours. Too bad there is no 'hot' button.
It's always this hot and I'm glad no serious humidity like the southern folks have... all that sweating must make it hard to stay on? hehe dusty
Back in my days as a child, I never remember ever complaining about the heat...it was the joy of summer and time to play baseball and run wild! WB
South Africa is well known for its sunshine. We have it throughout the year. No need for heaters during winter days. One can merely open the curtains and relax in the beaming sunrays, and even go outside to “unfreeze” in a sunny corner. Unfortunately the sun is extremely dangerous in summer, causing skin cancer, sunstroke, heat exhaustion, etc. Chickens literaly die during heat waves. A baby/child left in a car parked in the sun will die in less than half-an-hour. We have a saying: “If the sun gets you today walking all alone, it will surely kill you.” We have a town here with the name 'Hotazel'.
Lorlie, it was nice reading a new hub of yours. Take care.
You could move to Florida to cool off.
Very inspiring hub. I love in a tropical country. Where the sun always shinning every year. But I don't know why the people still complaining this gift. I hope we can more grateful with this gift and we get more solutions when the heat come to us. I heard what happen in US related with the heat through the newspaper. Thanks for share with us. Well done, Lorlie. Have a nice weekend.

Well Lorlie, at least you are looking at the heat in a humorous, positive way, I must remember to tune in to your hub the next time I am complaining about the heat! I have never been much of a fan of the real hot climates. I am so glad that in the next month anyway, I am moving back to the Bay Area 100% of the time so the hottest will probably about 80 or 90 degrees....
Very cute write, enjoyed even in the heat :-0
Actually, Laurel, my goal as I approach 60 (3 years and 4 months not that I'm counting) is to be RIDICULOUSLY HOT. God would I give both of my eye teeth to be ridiculously hot~
Think of all the good things about "hot" though - hot date, hot sex, hot damn, hot dress, hot guy, hot girl, red hot mama...I could go on and on.
I am a fickle kind of weather girl - I love it all so I tend to never complain (much) about any of it - it's all a cycle and when it's hot, I'm hot~! Oh I'm going to say that a few more times and just giggle!!!! I seriously need to get a life!
Lorlie ......Awesome .......hey there is no hot button!....:-}
I would have to say that I would rather be too hot than too cold. Unfortunately, this heat isn't doing much for my jelly rolls. Great hub!
What heat? Is is hot outside? Cool Hub!
We had some sunshine today and I hope we will have some next week as I am on holiday. I think the UK have had nothing like the warmth that mid US has had
I needed this today... just about 30 minutes ago I was complaining to myself how hot it was and I wish I had a pool to be swimming in. But, you showed me some light. I will not complain. It is a beautiful day... I will just have to remove some clothes so I can cool down a bit... oh yeah, and drink lots of water!
Here it is September 3rd and we still have the air conditioning going at night. I have been told that today will be the last of our hot and humid weather. I am looking forward to the cooler days of fall as I prefer the cooler weather. I always say I prefer it cold as I can always warm up.
Enjoyed your hub.
Sometimes I think winter time is just God's way of reminding us how wonderful the heat from the sun really is. We got a double-barrel dose of it down here in Texas this year! WB
Temperatures are cooling here and I don't like it one bit, give me a hot summer over a cold winter any day.
For me - warm water. Love the hot tub, a hot bath - my favorite! Wayne Brown is right - God is warm. God is comfort. I can feel it!
